It feels like a typical video, but it’s actually an interactive digital learning export from Storyline. We can build these and display these in virtually any digital environment.

Story Specifics

Naturally your story should absolutely be unique to you — just like your strengths. But there are a few elements to keep in mind:

  • Keep it under 2 minutes. This is around 200 words, give or take, and can typically be arranged in three paragraphs.
  • Include a challenge, a choice, and an outcome. You might make them 1 paragraph each, but that’s just a suggestion.
  • Highlight YOUR strengths, and how they’ve made an impact on you since putting them in to practice.

When you’re done, you should have a brief, impactful story to share with participants to express how the strengths-based approach changed your own outlook or result.

You can create this story in the word-processing program of your choice, or compose it directly in the notes section of the introduction slide so it’s handy when you need it. Practice sharing the story until it feels natural and from the heart.

That is why I want to [your personal alignment to the work, and its impact in the world.]

Remember to sprinkle in details for the senses (“I heard her take a deep breath”) and dialogue (“She said”), but only if they add to the point of the story.
